About the Generation X Committee for Social Security, Tax Reform and Economic Justice

We represent the interests of Generation X and the younger members of the Baby Boom Generation, roughly speaking those individuals born after 1960. The Committee was founded to educate the President, the Congress, the public and the advocacy community about comprehensive reform to the Social Security system, the Medicare and Medicaid Systems and other systems. Our focus is on this cohort because it was most adversely impacted by the 1990-91 recession. Many of this generation continue to be under-employed and are economically behind other generations at this point in their development. The Committee’s purpose is to highlight those reforms which increase economic justice, the rights of workers and the ability of youth to establish families and gain the full realization of the American Dream.
